This video shines some light on why you're suffering from the occasional block. Your stance is quite narrow - and because of this I see a lot of lower body movement. Your hips slide around a bit more than they should - I'd suggest widening your stance slightly to stabalize your lower body. Also, at the top your body weight is pretty centered - is this on purpose? Ideally (assuming your not a stack & tilter) you'd want most of your body weight to be positioned on the inside of your trailing heel. This should help you to get behind it more and might add some extra yards.
