#3 The Golf Drill Guru 2010-03-28 12:26 Bob, your swing has a good path however, I;d guess you suffer from a lot of inconsistency. If you watch the videos you'll notice your head moves quite a lot during your swing, your spine angle is changing quite a lot as well. These faults will create a lot of inconsistency at impact.

An ideal golf swing should have your shoulders rotating around a stable spine - this will help ensure you come into impact pretty close to how you started at address.

I'd work on trying to steadying your head throughout your swing, by focusing on keeping you spine more stable throughout the swing. Performing practice swings while holding a club behind your neck is a good way to envision how rotating your shoulders around your spine should feel.

Let me know how that goes!

#2 The Golf Drill Guru 2010-03-28 12:20 Hey, thanks for uploading your swings.

Frank - I see a couple things you can improve upon, that will likely get you some extra control and more distance.

At the top of your backswing, your club extends past parallel (like John Daly), and your "at-the-top" position is very close to your body. Ideally we like to see a lot of width between your club and your body at the top.

When you swing back your lead arm should be straight and locked - and this should continue at the top. This will ensure your making a wide swing arc which is great for increasing your swing speed. Try to get the club further away from your body at the top. Also consider shortening your backswing length so you stop the club when it reaches parallel to the ground - this will give you a lot more control, and help you retain your balance better throughout your swing.

I hope that help.
